This issue of Baggins' Bites features a new recipe for homemade dog treats. This one is good enough for us people to enjoy too.

Apple Cinammon Cake
Ingredients: 1 C. Flour
1/4 C. Oats
1/4 C. Cream of Wheat
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
1 Egg
3 Tbl. Honey
1/4 C. Oil

Directions: Mix all these ingredients pour batter into a lightly greased cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. When cool, you can cut into triangles for a nice cake slice for your pet.

Great for special occasions. Of course you can cut into much smaller pieces for more everyday treating too.

For a Healthy Coat Give your dog a daily dose of Safflower or Cotton Seed Oil in their food (1 teaspoon) this really helps them have a great looking coat and helps to reduce shedding. You could also sprinkle flaxseeds on their food for a healthy coat.

Do you have a burning question about dog treat recipes or dog care? If so, please write and let me know. I'll try to address it in a future issue of Baggins' Bites.

If you haven't already received your *free* special report on common foods that can be harmful to your pet's health, hold on, it's coming!
