Baggins' Bites: Sweet Spuds Are Healthy for Your Dog
September 13, 2011
Hey Dog Lover,

Fresh food is important for your health and your dog's. One tasty and easy vegetable to add to your dog's meals are sweet potatoes.

3 Reasons to Feed Your Dog Sweet Potatoes

1—They’re rich in vitamins like beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Iron, Zinc, Magnesium and B-Complex just to name some. These enhance your pet’s immune system.

2—They’re a tasty antioxidant to help prevent cancer.

3—They’re a natural anti-inflammatory so they help ease arthritis pain.

Sweet potatoes are an easy way to add some veggies to your pet’s meals.

Just bake them as you normally would, let cool and add to your pet’s dinner dish. You can steam some broccoli and/or green beans too for even more anti oxidant goodness :)

I sometimes bake 2-3 sweet potatoes at a time. (I might eat one myself :)) and feed approximately ˝ to Sammy. (He’s a 30 pounder)

I’ll save the rest for another meal. He likes them cold or warm.

Here’s a sweet potato and salmon treat recipe.

Your dog will love the flavors and you’ll love the health benefits from the vitamin-rich sweet potatoes AND the omega 3’s in the salmon.

I look forward to hearing your success stories!
