Your dog will beg for a banana biscotti dog treat!
Baggins' Banana Biscotti
Bananas are good for you and your dog. You already know they're high in potassium. But what does that mean?
Well, potassium is good for your kidneys and your bones. They're good for your heart and your lungs.
They're good for your blood.
They're a mood enhancer. (I mean, can you really be crabby eating a banana?)
So, just a few good reasons to feed them to your dog.
5 c. Flour
1 ½ c. Pureed Banana
½ tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Vanilla
1/8 c. Peanuts
¼ c. Vegetable Oil
Preheat oven 325 degrees. Mix dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix until lumpy.
Add water by teaspoon as needed. Knead by hand on a floured surface. Form into logs about 2 “ high. Flatten to make the biscotti about 6” wide and 1 “ tall.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets 30-40 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes. Slice into ½” to 1 “ biscotti slices. Bake another 10 minutes or until golden brown.
If you really want to get fancy, dip cooled biscotti in
melted carobThey freeze well too.
Makes a great gift. Package them up in a nice gift cellophane bag, tie with some curling ribbon and there you are! A creative and welcome hostess or holiday gift for the furry household members.
