Cheesy Delite Dog Treats

Yeah, it's a lot of cheese. Feed with care and share with the ‘hood

Ingredients:

3 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. uncooked quick oatmeal
¼ c. veg. oil
1 ½ c. hot water
½ c. dry milk
4 c. grated cheeses such as cheddar, Colby, Jack, Swiss, or Fontina
¼ tsp. minced garlic
1 beaten egg
1 c. rice flour
1 c. wheat germ
1 or 2 tbl. Chicken or beef broth

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In large bowl, pour hot water over the oatmeal, let stand for five minutes. Add the oil, stir in powdered milk, grated cheese, garlic, broth and egg. Add rice flour and wheat germ. Mix well.

Begin adding flour slowly, ½ c. a time mixing well after each addition. When you have a doughy constituency, knead with your hands for 3-4 minutes on a floured surface. Add more flour if necessary so you have a stiff dough. Roll it out to ½” thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place on greased baking sheet (can use parchment paper for quicker cleanup). Bake one hour. Turn off oven and allow to bake another 1 ½ hours or overnight.

Depending on size will make 30 or more. I hope your dog enjoys this cheese dog treat recipe.

Most dogs are crazy about cheese.

But don't feed too many cheese dog treats at once because it has a lot of fat. If you use small pieces as training treats, you will probably get them to take notice and learn quickly!
