Homemade-Dog-Treats Are Fun to Make and Show Your Furry Sweetheart(s) Just How Much You Care
You can make these homemade-dog-treats with any type of cookie cutter for all occasions.
I'm using a heart shaped cookie cutter because I made these for Valentine's Day :)
Apple Cinnamon Dog Treats:
Ingredients:
1 c. Natural Applesauce(or chopped apple)
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 Tbl. Parsley
1 c. Cold water
1/2 c. Veg. Oil
5 c. Flour
1/2 c. Powdered milk
2 large Eggs
Directions:
Preheat the oven 350 degrees.
Combine all of the ingredients -- add oil or water if dough needed. Roll out dough to desired thickness and cut into fun shapes using cookie cutters.
Bake 20 -25 minutes until browned.
These treats will last around 1 month at room temperature or 2 months (even longer) if refrigerated. You can also freeze them. They make great gifts too.
Parsley is a natural breath freshener.
In this video, I use whole wheat flour but you could use white or even oat, rye, or make a grain free homemade-dog-treat by using garbanzo bean flour.
Depending on where you live, specialty flours like Garbanzo Bean Flour, 1 lb.
may be simple to find at your local large grocery or Whole Foods. Otherwise, you may have to order it.
