My Dog Buddy!

My husband and I live on a sheep farm in Indiana.
While having the vet out for a call, in June 2007, I noticed a small chubby black puppy in the truck. The vet had given him a mild sedative since he was riding in the truck for the entire day.
I asked whose puppy it was and the vet stated that, It's yours if you want him." After five minutes of debating, we decided to take him for a one week "trial run." (The vet stated that he would take him to a shelter if we decided not to keep him.) Shortly after purchasing food and feeding dishes we knew that he was going to be a permanent fixture in the household.
My husband had a stroke several years ago and was just beaming with pride while playing with our new puppy.
In fact, my husband stated that the dog was his little buddy, so I suggested that his name should be Buddy.
Today, Buddy is a three year old fifty-five pound black lab mix that is the happiest dog on the entire planet! We like to go to the dog park and play with other dogs and families, whenever we have the time. It is hard to believe that someone would leave a puppy in a cardboard box on the door step of a total stranger! Buddy is the love of our lives!!!
