New Dog Sammy is a Sweetie

Since some of you have written to ask about Sammy, I thought I'd do a page about his adventures in these first days of living with me.

Here he is in the car.

We're about to embark on our 500 mile trip from Snead's Ferry, NC to his new home in New Hope, PA.

For the first few days he didn't want to let me out of his sight.

He even insisted on coming into the bathroom with me. (Kind of reminded me of the close quarters I still sometimes share with my sisters ;)

He got comfortable fairly quickly.


It took him a little more than a week to overcome his fears of the basement steps (no backs! could fall through!) and to figure out the doggie door.

Today, he went out of his own accord! That's a first!

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I took him to a doggie beach in NJ. Fisherman's Cove was full of dogs!

It was a good confidence builder.
