Dog Treat Recipes and SBI Make a Profitable Business
I have a secret ;)
It's such a secret that it was even hidden from me for 30 odd years.
In a minute I'll share my secret with you but first let me introduce myself.
My name is Jen and the fluffy dog here is Baggins, we're at the Farmer’s Market selling dog treats in July of 2005 in Doylestown, PA.
Ok, here's the secret.
I knew nothing about the internet when I got started with this site.
Seriously, I could barely surf the web.
But, now I've learned along the way and have grown my site to 30,000 visitors a month (with more every month!)
It's so cool getting checks from Google every month!
Plus, I've built a super loyal following of caring and committed dog lovers.
For example, when Baggins died, I told the readers on my list and I got more than 300 emails expressing their sympathies!
Oh, but I'm getting ahead of myself ;)
Ok, I had just gotten started baking dog treats for fun and profit when this picture was taken
A few months later I realized it wasn't so fun baking for 3-4 hours every night after work and it wasn't so profitable either.
10-15 hours a week for $20-$50 dollars--you do the math.
But here's the bottom line.
I wanted to make more money. Sound familiar?
I had a lousy paying job in the non-profit museum field. Sound glamorous? It's not.
Imagine every entry-level job you know and add 18 bosses (the board) plus a demanding public.
Add a starting salary $10,000 less than what it cost me for the Master's degree I had to earn just for the privilege of starting at such a lowly rate.
McDonald's managers made more than me.
See why I wanted something else? I was disillusioned, frustrated and wanted to get out of debt.
Here Was the Problem
I didn't know what to do. I had no business experience.
Can you relate?
I'd just spent 2 years obtaining this rarified degree. Somehow I thought it was going to be my ticket to "security"--whatever that is!
I'd spent my 20's "getting by".
I'd sold art, clothes, bartended, waited tables, traveled and generally tried to escape getting a "real" job for most of my adult life.
And I had a lot of schooling--in the humanities. I wasn't qualified for anything remotely business related.
Maybe you're lucky, you have more "practical" experiences. Maybe you're an accountant or a paralegal or a nurse. Now those are useful occupations.
Or, you're a dog sitter or a hair stylist or gardener. Good for you.
I had nothing practical to fall back on. I knew about art and 19th century buildings and furniture. And literature. I knew a lot about literature. Ummm...what could I do?
My plan was to start something on the side that would bring in extra income and hopefully would grow one day.
I spent a lot of time researching stuff online. Have you done this?
I read a gazillion "Get Rich Quick" schemes --I'm sure you've seen them. "Press the Money Button and Thousands of Dollars Will Flood Your Bank Account Every Single Day--My Course Will Teach You How."
You know the ones.
And as much as I wanted to believe them, I just couldn't. I felt like something was missing.
But it did seem like the internet was the best way to go.
After a few months of searching, I finally stumbled upon Site Build It (SBI).
Now, when I first saw this it seemed both legitimate and doable. It wasn't filled with crazy sounding hype. But was it real? I was skeptical at first.
Could I do this?
Site Build It (SBI) Can It Change Your Life?
Now, I wasn't an instant sale.
I thought about it and turned it over in my mind.
I debated about it with my husband for a couple of weeks. After all, I didn't know quite what it was or what to do with it and it seemed a bit expensive.
But I finally decided I would never know if I didn't give it try and it had a money back guarantee so I might as well give it a shot.
I figured it's the things we don't try that we most regret so I decided to go for it!
I liked that I could do it on my schedule. I didn't have to bake for 2-3 hours after work every night and then get up at 6 a.m. on Saturdays to go to the Farmer's Market.
It had a step by step guide to take me from beginning to end. I didn't have to know how to build a website. SBI showed me how.
It had a built in support system with the forums. I figured I was going to need a lot of support!
It was portable. Which I really liked the sound of because I love to travel.
Bottom line is Site Build It (SBI) has changed my life. And, it can change yours.
It's given me a confidence I didn't have before because I did it!
You don't have to know a thing about building a website or even about business because they walk you through the whole thing.
And you don't even have to know what your site will be about!
SBI has the tools that help you decide which of your interests has the most potential.
I'm talking real hand holding here.
If you've ever wanted the freedom to work from home, set your own hours and be in charge of your income---well, here's your chance!
It's so simple when you have the right tools.
SBI helped me pick my topic--based on what people like you were looking for.
It showed me how to put together a webpage--with no fancy html knowledge--that get found by Google. Some of those webpages have upwards of 14,536 visitors a month!
It lets Google, Yahoo, Bing and all the other search engines know when I make updates or add new stuff--you don't have to manually let all the search engines know yourself by filling out tedious forms. I have other stuff to do!
SBI helped me build a newsletter list of over 4300 subscribers.
It's all done automatically. Once a month I write up something to send my readers, set it up in the software and press the button to send.
Later, I can see how many people looked at it, how many it went to, etc.
That's just a smidgen of what these tools can do for you.
There's so much "nuts and bolts" stuff but let's
