I lost my dog Zake on feb. 2, 2010 from hemangiosarcoma and it was a very hard time for me.
He was a 6 year old black lab great dane mix. He was my best friend. I will always love and miss him.
But 3 wks after his passing I could not stand being in the house without a dog, so I went to the local shelter and I met a little female black lab collie mix that I named Sissy, and she is a sweetie.
She was brought to the shelter and chained to the door in a snow storm on all days Feb. 2 the day Zake died, I just knew I had to have her and she is the best little dog, she was abused and was kept in a cage to small for her, and was fed a bad diet.
She got sick a few weeks later and when I got her to the vet she had a lipase of over 6000 and was in severe pancreatitis and was in ICU for 3 days.
She has pulled thru it and is on a special diet now and I am glad that I adopted her. I think going to the shelter and getting a dog is the best way to go.
