Tomato ketchup for deskunking ?

We're lucky over here in Northern France - we don't have skunks, but, we do have foxes, and after a dog has rolled in fox poo it stinks real bad !
We use ketchup. Just massage it into the fox poo in the dogs hair,leave it for 10 mins or so, and then wash out with shampoo. It works well, perhaps better than tomato juice as it sticks to the fur.If you try it after a skunking let me know if it works.
